There are not many such workshops.
There is something fascinating in the bells. They are not just tools for creating special sound quality and exceptional purity.
Bell is also a means of communion with God and people. They seem to draw attention to an event taking place in the Church. Because bell-ringing is ceremonial and mourning, he can report the good news, or simply to delight the ear with music, which creates a bell-ringer. But not only that.
Each bell itself is also a work of art. In the small town of Tutaev in the Yaroslavl region North is the bell plant. It is known probably all over the world. Tutayev bells ringing in churches throughout Russia, Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
No bell, of course, «starts» is not so. First, the necessary calculations, it should be on paper to calculate what will be the new bell, then cut patterns that will determine its shape. And only then starts the long process, during which the axle (rod) layer after layer is pushed clay. Even clay is special — it is transported from a career in the Yaroslavl region. But don’t ask what: it’s a secret tutaevsky masters.
The owner and soul of the plant is Nikolai Shuvalov. Actually, it is called: the Bell factory Nikolai Shuvalov. And who better can tell you about the bells and the process of their manufacture?!
The workpiece layer by layer superimposed clay, and the quality gradually improves as it becomes thinner and thinner, until finally, on the spindle is not quite ready bell. But clay, not copper. And it is still the inner surface of the bell. Then the rod is put another template on which «cut» the external profile of the future bell. Layer by layer lies a clay, but of a different quality.
And the next photograph shows the bells in various stages of readiness.
And here you can see the mold, elevated above the clay bell workpiece. The pattern moves around the shape, making more than a hundred laps a day.
And when the form is ready, it is superimposed jewelry. It is also very hard work: jewelry first made from clay, then cast in special forms, of which there is a new casting — this time in wax. And clay bell superimposed wax letters and images. It turns out something like:
When the external shape of the bell is ready, the top cover is carefully removed and underneath is an exact copy of the future bell. But the clay. Them out and destroy:
And now, after more than two months of labor comes the moment of casting. Casting itself lasts a little more than ten minutes. Well, for large bells, probably about twenty. Then the metal cools, and here it is, almost ready bell!
It is necessary to attach the language. One of this kind. Maybe one of these:
In all, the bell is ready.
